The Creation

Step by Step Guide

PHASE 01

THE STRATEGY

Pre-shoot Consultation

Before the shutter clicks, we dive into who you are and what you're looking for. It's about defining your visual direction to make sure your profile actually resonates with the right people.

PHASE 02

THE CURATION

Aesthetic Planning

No cookie-cutter setups. We map out your wardrobe, select Sydney locations that fit your vibe, and plan a natural grooming approach that feels like you on your best day.

PHASE 03

THE SESSION

Guided Shooting

A relaxed, conversational experience on location. I’ll guide you through the movement and light to capture those candid, unguarded moments you didn't even know were there.

PHASE 04

THE SELECTION

Review & Shortlist

Within 48 hours, you’ll receive an online gallery. Together, we’ll filter through the frames to find the shots that have the most life and magnetic pull.

PHASE 05

THE FINISH

Narrative Retouching

My editing philosophy is 'invisible.' We keep the skin texture and the raw energy intact, giving your photos a timeless, film-like depth that never looks over-processed.

Testimonials
Honestly I was pretty nervous going in. Never really done anything like this before. But Maggie just has this way of making you feel comfortable. Ended up having fun which I did NOT expect. Photos came out great—actually look like me but better?
SAM C. Product Designer, Sydney
The thing that got me was the attention to detail. Like she noticed how I tilt my head when I'm thinking and worked with that instead of against it. Little things like that make all the difference. Really happy with how these turned out.
JESS T. Marketing, Bondi
I've avoided professional photos for years because I always feel awkward. Maggie gets that. She talks you through it, shows you what works, and somehow makes the whole thing feel like a conversation. Would recommend to anyone who's camera-shy.
MARC L. Founder, Pyrmont
I needed proper professional portraits for my dating apps and LinkedIn — wanted something that worked for both. Maggie somehow nailed it. The photos feel polished but not stiff. My matches literally doubled after I updated my profile.
RYAN K. Finance, CBD
Did a lot of research before booking dating profile photography and Rose Is Rose kept coming up. Now I get why. Maggie has clearly done this a thousand times — she knows exactly what works on Hinge versus what works in real life. Genuinely worth every cent.

Questions

Before you book

Good
to
Know

Most people's self-taken photos look like self-taken photos — and on a dating app, that reads as someone who either doesn't have anyone to take their photo, or couldn't be bothered. The difference isn't just technical quality. It's that a good session gives you photos where you look relaxed, lit properly, and like yourself on a genuinely good day. That combination is very hard to achieve pointing a phone at your own reflection.

Most sessions run two to three hours — long enough to shoot across a couple of locations and let you settle into it, not so long that it becomes exhausting. Edited images are delivered within two weeks. Every final image is individually edited, so you receive a finished set rather than a folder of hundreds of half-decent shots to sort through yourself.

No. Most people start with the photography session and add from there. Hair and makeup, wardrobe styling, profile writing and app strategy are all available as add-ons — or as standalone sessions if you've already got the photos sorted. There's no package you have to buy. You just book what's actually useful for where you're at.

It shows in the first twenty minutes, and then it usually doesn't. The beginning of every session is warm-up — walking, talking, getting comfortable with the camera present. The good photos almost always happen after that, once you've stopped thinking about being photographed. Most people are surprised by how quickly that happens. And for what it's worth: nearly everyone says some version of 'I'm terrible in photos' before we start, and nearly everyone ends up with photos they actually like.
